Core movements and method
Swedish massage uses the five basic movements developed by Pehr Henrik Ling to increase circulation and move fluid through soft tissues. Therapists apply strokes that compress and release muscle fibers, using rhythm and repetition so the body can respond to sustained, measured pressure without abrupt force or jolts.
At Elite Thai Massage we use those movements alongside strokes that mirror lymphatic drainage patterns to encourage the release of metabolic waste from muscles. The work is paced for 90 minutes so therapists can balance longer, smoothing strokes with focused compressions without rushing key areas.
Pressure, oil, and choices
The standard approach combines firm but gentle pressure with either oil or lotion according to your preference. Oils generally permit longer, uninterrupted gliding strokes while lotion can feel lighter and absorb more quickly. Tell us which you prefer when booking or to your therapist at the start of the session.
If you’d like a specific therapist, please add their name in the appointment notes; otherwise we assign practitioners based on our rotation. Therapists will check your comfort and adjust pressure throughout the 90 minutes, so communication during the session is the primary way to shape the experience.
Session flow and local logistics
A Swedish Massage (90 min) session at our Koreatown location is structured to maximize hands-on time within the ninety minutes. The therapist will review notes, confirm pressure and product choice, then proceed through the planned sequence of strokes. The full 90 minutes allows time for a measured, unhurried progression across prioritized areas.
Our Mid‑Wilshire location is easy to reach from Wilshire/Western transit and major bus routes, making before- or after-work appointments practical for Los Angeles commuters. Strong evening and weekend foot traffic nearby supports later bookings; the Mediterranean climate of the region also means many clients prefer lighter clothing and flexible scheduling.
